Amdale is pleased to appoint its new Sales and Estimating engineer, James Francis, BSc (Hons).
Working alongside John Cook, James will be instrumental in developing Amdale’s Aerospace machining department. James has engineering in his blood, having worked for his father’s company since he was old enough to wind the handles on an old Bridgeport mill. After funding his degree by getting his hands dirty on the shop floor, James then spent two years in a quality department working to upgrade the company to AS9100 Rev C.
He is very excited about the challenges that his new job in the sales department at Amdale will bring and is looking forward to putting the company on the Aerospace map!
Precision engineering forms the backbone of manufacturing activity; it forms an integral part of electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering. From semiconductor chips, to the most advanced medical devices and the most sophisticated drill parts used in oil exploration, precision engineered products play a vital role in the development of the overall economy.
So what will happen in 10 years time when all of the highly skilled engineers we have, retire? The British industry will need 100,000 new graduates in science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects every year until 2020 just to maintain current employment numbers.
August 8th 2013 will mark a landmark anniversary for Amdale, the celebration of 25 years in business, or as we like to call it 25 years of engineering excellence. Amdale has been at the forefront of precision engineering and have gained an enviable reputation within the industry over the last quarter of a century.
Amdale Limited was established in 1988 as a family business, providing an EDM Wire Erosion facility to the precision engineering market. Amdale’s reputation for quality, reliability and budget control in precision engineering underpinned the company’s expansion into new areas. As the company developed, new machining processes were introduced in line with the requirements of the ever-changing engineering industry. By 1996 the company had grown so significantly that it needed additional premises to house the new CNC Turning and the expanding CNC Milling departments.
We are a leading precision engineering company based in Portsmouth. We are currently seeking a talented CNC Miller to come and join our team of highly skilled CNC Engineers. As a CNC Miller you will be working on projects for a number of different industries such as motorsport, aerospace, marine, medical and automotive.
Here at Amdale we are continuously investing in the latest technology because accuracy and reliability are at the centre of Amdale’s engineering success and we are always striving to achieve more. Continue reading →
